The game is suited for people of all ages who like Hearts or card games.Hearts is a trick-taking card game played by four players.The winner of the game is whoever has the lowest score when the game ends.The game ends when any player has 100 or more points. ![]() If you score all points on a round you can decide if you would prefer to subtract 26 points from your total score or add 26 points to all of your competitors.Each Heart is worth a point & the Queen of Spades is worth 13 points.If you get stuck eating the Queen of Spades you already scored half the points, so if nobody else has scored any points yet it may make sense to see if you can shoot the moon.If a suit has been laid many times be careful with casually taking a trick where someone else may throw the Queen of Spades on it.Avoid taking tricks and the deal unless you have low Spades to lead back, have a high Spade you are discarding last, or you are trying to shoot the moon.In general you want to get rid of your highest cards you can without winning tricks, or get rid of high Spades if you are throwing last.The objective of the game is to not score points.The Queen of Spades is worth 13 points.Players do not score points for winning tricks, but score points if any Hearts or the Queen of Spades are thrown on a trick they win.Players must follow the suit led if they have it in their hand.Hearts are considered broken if a player has previously thrown a Heart on another trick.Hearts may not be led until the suit is broken or the player leading a Heart has nothing but Hearts in their hand.After the first hand the Queen of Spades can be thrown any time.If a player does not have any Clubs they may not throw the Queen of Spades or a Heart on the first trick.Players must follow suit if they have a card of the suit led in their hand.The game starts with a player throwing the 2 of Clubs.Try to avoid having large runs of cards near the upper limit of any suit unless you also have many low ranked cards in that suit or are trying to shoot the moon.If you can pass cards to limit yourself to holding 3 or fewer suits then when the fourth suit is thrown you can lay off Hearts or a Queen of Spades on it if you have it.In general it is typically best to pass the King or Ace of Spades unless you have many low Spades in your hand or are considering shooting the moon.This rotation repeats until the game ends.First you pass 3 cards left, next you pass 3 cards right, on the final pass you pass to the player sitting across from you and on the fourth round there is no pass.The game works on a 4 cycle passing rotation across hands.Near each player it states how many points they had scored in the current round & how many they had scored in the game so far exclusive of the current round. ![]()
